The Padre Hotel in Bakersfield CA

The Padre Hotel, located in Bakersfield California, is one of the most beautiful and unique hotels that I have ever had the privilege of working with. There isn’t much to do directly near the hotel – but considering the number of amenities that the hotel has to offer, you don’t need to leave. I would fly back to Bakersfield just to have a staycation at The Padre Hotel.

When I stayed at The Padre Hotel, I was road-tripping through California from Napa to Vegas. I stayed in Bakersfield for one night after visiting Sequoia National Park that day and leaving for Death Valley and then Vegas the following day. It was an excellent in-between location for my scenario.

The Room:

Our room at The Padre Hotel was easily one of my three favorite hotel rooms that I’ve ever stayed in. From modern decor, an inviting contrast of bright and dark colors, the huge king-size bed, to the world coolest bathtub. The bathroom was equally as nice as the bedroom, with a large walk-in shower and a jacuzzi tub that filled up with water that pours out of the ceiling. I would have gladly stayed in this hotel room for days.

Dining & Entertainment:

There are a number of dining options at The Padre Hotel. We enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Belvedere Room, which is an elegant five-star dining experience. We enjoyed a bottle of wine, a perfectly cooked steak, and an incredible peanut butter dessert. I have a soft spot for fine dining and our experience at The Belvedere Room was absolute perfection.

Other dining and entertainment options at The Padre Hotel include Brimstone (a pub), Prairie Fire (rooftop bar and deck), Prospect (nightclub with speakeasy vibes and craft cocktails), and Farmacy Cafe (fresh coffee, wine, breakfast, and grab and go options). There is also a spa with a variety of package options. With so many great options, this is why I mentioned that The Padre Hotel would be a great location for a girls getaway or a romantic staycation.
